Bernd Resch (Z_GIS and Heidelberg University) received the Theodor Körner Prize in the category of medicine, natural sciences and technology on 11 May during a ceremony at the University of Vienna. The prize was awarded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit).

In his work, Bernd Resch focuses on evaluating human emotions, which can be measured with a variety of sensors. It aims to find out how human emotions can be used in cityplanning.

The Theodor Körner Prize is awarded annually as recognition for the outstanding scientific achievements of young scientists. The award was presented as part of a ceremony organized by the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Dr. Heinz Fischer, at the Hofburg in Vienna.
