As a kind of sidekick to Urban Emotions, to the testing of new Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies in the use of urban planning, the “Urban Cable Cars” project is used in the context of our research. Started at the TU Kaiserslautern, as a cooperation between computer-assisted planning, landscape planning and our urban partner, the city of Konstanz, the management of ropeways in urban areas, their design and route planning, as well as the impact on the open space were researched themes within the framework of study projects. As a special component within the communication with citizens, the focus was on the development of new, immersive technologies for the visual assessment of the structural consequences of such a project.
